1 Peter 1:23

1 Peter 1:23

“having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” – 1:23

At the start of this chapter, we were introduced to the abundant mercy which has enabled us to be born again, and We have seen the importance of conduct in the opening of the chapter. And now, we see how it has happened.

having been born again

It is possible.

not of corruptible seed but incorruptible

It’s not a corruptible birth, but an incorruptible birth, as Jesus taught in John 3:1-17.

through the word of God which lives and abides forever

We are born again “through” the word of God, which is kept “through” the Spirit. This is where the real power comes.

An application:

Father, I need, I want this to be my story. Forgive me for my rebellion, and my lack of belief in you. Thank you for your abundant mercy that desires to birth me again, into your family, into your kingdom. Please save me, please transform me. Amen.
