1 Peter 1:18

“knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,” – 1:18

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold  – So we are redeemed (ransom) by the mercy of God, not by silver or gold.

from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,  – What are we redeemed from? Conduct that is aimless. Because now that we are born again, we are called to conduct with intent, with purpose, holy conduct.

An application:

Father, thank you for redeeming me! For a purpose, for holy conduct! Enable me to be what you desire of me! Amen!
