1 Peter 1:19

1 Peter 1:19

“but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” – 1:19

but – in contrast to being redeemed by silver or gold that is corruptible, so what comes next is not corruptible.

with the precious blood of Christ – this is what we are redeemed by, Jesus’ blood (which means His life) His death is by what I am redeemed. The only reason I will be in heaven and with God forever is because of Jesus’ death for me. Why?

as of a lamb without blemish and without spot – Jesus fulfills the sacrificial offering, as the perfect lamb, without sin. blemish (morally faultless) and spot (free from vice)

An application:

Father, Thank you for Jesus’ life, save me, transform my conduct, and make me holy even as you are holy. Amen.
