Titus 1:13
Titus 1:13
“This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,” – Titus 1:13
“rebuke them” – the Bishop needs to ‘tell a fault’ and ‘convince’
“sharply” – ‘abruptly’, don’t beat around the bush.
“that they may be sound” – that they may be ‘uncorrupt’, ‘be well’, ‘be in good health’
“in the faith” – without the ‘rebuke’ they will not be in good health according to the faith. Hence the need for the ‘tell a fault’
An application:
As an “overseer”, Lord, help me to be able to have the courage and wisdom on when and how to ‘rebuke – tell a fault’ in such a way that it will bring ‘good health’ to the one who is being ‘rebuked’, the ‘insubordinate’, ‘idle talker’, and ‘deceiver’. Amen.
