“but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled,” – Titus 1:8

the bishop must be hospitable – one who cares for others.

the bishop must be a lover of what is good – loves righteousness.

the bishop must be just – fair to all.

the bishop sober-minded – clear thinker, rational.

the bishop must be holy – set-a-part

the bishop must be self-controlled – not controlled by impulse or passion.

An application:

As an “overseer”, Lord, please help give me the Holy Spirit so that I might have His fruit evident in my life. Give me a heart to care for others, to be fair, holy and self-controlled.
