Titus 2:12

Titus 2:12

“teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,” – Titus 2:12

Grace teaches us…

1 – to deny ungodliness

2 – to deny worldly lusts

3 – to live soberly

4 – to live righteously

5 – to live godly

All of these five things that Grace teaches us is to have effect ‘now in the present age’

to deny – this is the act of disavowing something or rejecting.

to live – from the Greek word zaō – to live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)

These two words imply that Grace transforms, from a spiritual lifeless form to a living and breathing spiritual life. But to be alive, we must first deny.

An application:

As an “overseer”, Lord, thank you for providing this Grace! Please let this grace teach me today – transform me, please! Amen.
