Titus 3:3

Titus 3:3

“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.” – Titus 3:3

“Remind them” – this is the context to this verse…

“For we ourselves were also once foolish”– why are we to remind them? ‘For’ or because we ourselves were also once like them. And yet because of Grace and it teaching us we are transformed and different.

This is what we look like before we encounter and are taught by grace.

  • foolish – unwise
  • disobedient – not compliant
  • deceived – go astray
  • serving various lusts and pleasures – a desire for what is forbidden
  • living in malice and envy – spite and jealousy
  • hateful and hating one another – no love

The next verse v4 will show us once again that it was Grace that brought the transformation.

An application:

As an “overseer”, Lord, please use Grace to teach me how to live this Spirit Filled Life. Amen.
